They both worked.<br />This would be great in a crock pot. When I make it again, and I will, I will use the crock. I guess, everybody puts in the bo...I'm Russian. I guess, everybody puts in the borscht whatever they have. Since tomatoes grow well in Ukraine, they add tomatoes to their's. In Russia it is usually made without tomatoes. My family has a humble background, so there is no beer, celery or sugar in it.
