I promise that when I don't post regularly it's not because I'm sitting around watching bad day time TV and eating bon-bons.
Although, I do secretly wish that was true.
maybe not so secretly.
Sometimes when you write on the internet for a while people want to give you stuff. Mostly I ignore the stuff that is offered, because it doesn't fit into slow-cooking, our particular lifestyle, it isn't gluten-free, or it's icky (think viagra).
But sometimes something comes along that is just-too-good-to-pass-up, and would directly benefit our family for the better.
And I feel like I'd be a do-do if I didn't say yes.
A few weeks ago was one of those times. I'd like to share with you our brand-new free thing, and the opportunity for you to win a $200 gift card so you, too, could have a brand-new free thing.
Just in time for the holidays! Although I promise not tell if you keep the card for yourself.
I'd also like to share a new post on Totally Together: The Art of Being Present
and
a write-up on BlogHer.com I did about Helping Children Express Feelings. (edited: I guess the link isn't live yet. When it is, I'll update. )
and that's it. Now go! Go win some of other people's money!

Hey there!
I am a bit unclear as to how you got the free fridge and the $200 gift card...? Your article
said :
"I received a bunch of Best Buy gift cards to cover the cost, installation, and extended warranty of our new (and shiny!) fridge]"
Wasn't it free and why would you have to purchase the gift cards if it was a give-away?
Sorry if I'm just not being daff here....Can you clear up the confusion?
Thnaks a bunch!
Stephanie - the article on being present could not have come at a better time. I walked away from a stack of to-do today and played and played with my kids. It felt amazing. Not to mention that when I got back to work - I was so much more productive. It's part of my theme this month - trying to do more of what I FEEL like I should do not what I THINK I should do.
ah! It was free---the giftcards covered the cost of the fridge, and were sent so I could go to my local Best Buy and set up delivery and installation.
The give-away is for $200 in Best Buy gift cards. To enter, Samsung would like to know which of the products would best fit your lifestyle. But, you can use the gift cards to purchase anything you'd like at Best Buy.

You are right. You;d be a do-do if you didn't say yes to that!!
Shelly, I'm so glad to be of some help. I need to remind myself of this often. They are only little for just so long. xoxo

I was really humored by the add that BlogHer put up on your blog this last week. It was for Smucker's uncrustables. It made me laugh to see an add for "bread" on a gluten free blog. - Heidi
Congratulations! That is an awesome fridge. I'm so impressed! I wish you many long, trouble free years together!
And thanks for the article on being present, we all need reminding. Somehow, I listened much better to my first son... less with the second... and even less with the third. Fortunately he is LOUD and KNOWS HIS RIGHTS!
Thanks for the head's up on the contest, Steph! Cruising over there now to read your review and enter to win. Good luck to everyone who enters!
I so could use a new frige, the one we have now is awful, while cleaning the bottom glass shelf it broke, inside the door that should hold gallons of milk those support bars broke and I have replaced them twice and they break again. My crisper drawer holds condiments, I am embarassed by the inside of my frige please help.
Congrats on the book again Stephanie.... I am going to pick up a copy as soon as I hit a book store. Take it easy and relax for a while. You deserve it!

Thank you for the heads up on the gift card. I just eneterd to win.
You have noooooooo idea how much I could benefit from a new fridge. In fact, I was just battling with the produce door. I'm pretty sure my fridge was born in the 1800s. The doors constantly jam and make a huge racket andddd put me in a downright bad mood when I'm trying to a) hurry or b) be quiet because others in the house are sleeping.
But alas, these silly contests are not open to us poor Canadians so I'll be suffering with my ancient fridge until I happen to win the lottery!
